I first fell in love with Keegan in "Coexist". We got to know her further in "Conflicted" and then in "Consumed". In Julia Crane's newest spinoff "ROURK" Keegan is all grown up.
This book has forwarded to Keegan and Rourk being married. Rourk is now in the military in Afganistan. Keegan is used to life as a military wife and Rourk has an intense feeling that while on his newest mission, he should really be home. By now, Rourk should know to follow his instinct. Rourk makes an enemy of a D'Jinn and Keegan will pay. Will Rourk and Keegan's love see them through their next chapter?
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Why? It read at a more mature level. There are times you will fear for them and times you will mourn for them. Our favorite adversaries once again trump evil and then are left to deal with very human emotions and consequences. I didn't think I would like the military aspect of it at first, but once again, Julia Crane knew how to weave just the right amount of reality and magic to make it work. I hope to see more books in this series. I'd like to see how Thaddeus continues to find his way in the world and how the "new additions" turn out as well. What will be the next adventure? I await to find out.
