Review: "Death Knows My Name" by Casse NaRome

MAYNE ST LECLAIR has spent her adult life closed off emotionally from the world around her. She learned very early on that those who get close to her end up dead. She knows she is cursed, but what she doesn't know is why.

ECTAIN “ERIC” EDECK knows the pain he has caused Mayne but the connection is undeniable. Can Mayne get passed the hurt and fall in love or has her heart been broken too many times?

Is death playing some sort of cruel joke on
Mayne St LeClair or is watching her suffer breaking Death’s heart?

REVIEW:

Mayne has been through so much throughout her life that it has left her emotionally closed off. Her only friend is her deceased boyfriend's brother who took on the role of protector when her brother died. She has lost her parents, brother, love of her life, and every man she has been intimate with. When she meets Eric, her world is tilted on it's axis as he reveals all under Heaven and Sheol (Hell).

So many people are keeping things from her or has she just not noticed what was going on around her? Was she really that self absorbed when mourning? The people she cares about most have secrets from her, whether accidentally or on purpose. It's Mayne's turn to be a shoulder to cry on and pull herself together for the fate of all memory keepers. How will she save the fate of the one closest to her heart? She is determined and knows that she will succeed.

This book makes you feel many uncomfortable emotions as you go through her gut wrenching loss. It also has hot, steamy scenes. It's Death so it has to be hot and it doesn't disappoint.  The action between the characters has a depth that many books lack and there's enough smart ass to keep the story funny and lighten the mood.

This is the first book I've read by Casse NaRome and I'll be sure to check out her other books. This is the type of book you can't put down until you finish it. You have to know what is going to happen next and how all will be resolved. The chemistry between Mayne and Eric is there and powerful. I love how close she and Devon are and their banter. You see true friendships as they are being made and long standing friendships being tried and going through hard situations. This isn't just another love story of romance. This is a love story of friendship, love for your fellow human being, a sister's love, an aunt's love, and a the love of new and old lovers. How far would you go for love?
