Review: James by Chantal Fernando

James Steele leads a complicated life, a life that makes it hard to get close to people. James’ secrets caused him to lose the woman of his dreams, Sasha Crawford. James has now moved on with Tatiana, a lovely woman whom he works with, someone who understands his reasons for secrecy. When Sasha comes back into the picture James will have to make a decision. Will he stay with Tatiana, a woman he has grown to care for? Or step up with explanations for Sasha, the woman he can’t seem to stop wanting?

Sasha, a foolish romantic, had thought she had found the love of her life in the sexy James Steele. That was, until she saw him in the arms of another woman. Heartbroken and betrayed, Sasha now had a new take on romance, using dating and men as a way to get over the pain of losing James. When their paths cross again and James now has a new woman, how will she react? Will she let go of all the hurt and anger, and move on? Demand answers? Or lay her cards down, and fight to win back the man that was once her everything?

James is a story full of angst and emotion. The Steele brothers are a hot bunch of brothers who have played the field and have no shortage of attention. What happens when you have females fawning over you, a secret job, and you get caught in a situation? James and Sasha are madly in love, or so Sasha thought, that is until she sees him pull into another woman's house. He won't explain anything, only tells her to leave. When he tries to explain later, Sasha wants nothing to do with it. The relationship is over.

Sasha has lived in Scotland for 2 years. It's time to go home and give her son the family he's never met. This includes letting James know he has a son. She has never gotten over James. He was the love of her life, but he betrayed her and now she has Jya to think of.

James will never forget the one who got away. He still loves Sasha, but he's heard his Sister-in-Law talking about her and someone named Jya. If only he could have explained. He never betrayed her. It was a job, nothing else.

When Sasha returns to Perth the proverbial cat is out of the bag. The instant everyone sees Jya they know he is James son. When James sees him he knows the child is his. Why would Sasha do this to him? Does she hate him that much? James is going to get his son and Sasha and make them a family. He's not going to let her get away again.

Sasha wants James to be a father to Jya, but she doesn't know if she's ready for anything more. Can she be with the man who holds her heart? A chance at a new future comes. How many problems can come up before all is lost? Can you forgive someone just because they forgave you? How hard should a person have to fight for love?

There is no end to the "oh, and by the way". It definitely keeps it all interesting. This book flowed wonderfully, there was a constant threat to the relationship and they worked through each problem. I love that the whole story was told. There aren't any unanswered hang ups at the end. It's a wonderful love story of second chances. There seems to be no shortage of hot bodies or sex. The Steele's and Crawford's are a exciting bunch. This story makes you ready to go to Australia and see which cousin is available now that all the brothers are taken.
