Katie Parks has been on her own since the age of fifteen. All she’s ever wanted is a place to call her own—a life that is wholly hers that no one can take away. She thought she finally had it, but with the strike of a single match, everything she worked so hard for is reduced to a pile of smoking ash. And she almost is too.

Now she’s being stalked by someone who’s decided it’s her time to die. The only thing standing in the path of her blazing death is sexy firefighter Holt Arkain.

Katie’s body might be safe with Holt… but her heart is another story.
As the danger heats up, sparks fly and the only thing Katie knows for sure is that her whole life is about to go up in flames.

REVIEW

Katie has been alone since she was 15. Her mother died and she was left to the foster system, she has no one in her life. There's no relatives, no friends, and no significant other. When she wakes to find herself tied to a chair with a psycho who lights her house up, her life gets very confusing. She has had life planned out so that no one can let her down and she will never be uprooted again. All she wants permanence, something that won't be taken away from her and she has it. How easily it's all lost though. Not only is there someone who wants her dead, she has no where to go and no one to turn to, that is except for the hunky fire chief that saved her life, Holt. Katie is definitely attracted to her rescuer. The problem is, she doesn't want to be. To take a chance at confiding in someone is to take a chance at heartbreak. She isn't willing to try it, or is she? Is the chief's body to hot to handle? Can she touch without being scorched? She has no experience in this, but maybe she's willing to learn.

Holt felt an connection instantly when he saw Katie in the hospital. She needed someone and has no one. There's just something about her that brings out the protector in him. He also gets a little hot and bothered every time he is around her. The little librarian has taken up his heart. Something that hasn't happened before. He's never felt like this. The passion ignites and there's no turning back for either of them. There may be someone out to get Katie, but that doesn't stop from love from happening.

This book is action packed, whether you are reading it for the suspense, mystery, or love scenes. It all comes to completion at the end and there is a happily ever after. I liked that we didn't know who the suspect was until the last couple of chapters so it kept you on your toes waiting to see who it would be. I felt a little foreshadow when she was watching tv and wondered if the star would play into it, but was surprised and how that worked it's way in. If you want a good read that's not just sexy, but also mysterious and full of danger, this is the one for you. Every turn Katie takes puts her body in harms way and her heart on the line. Will Katie be the only person to be harmed? A librarian, a fire chief, and a book that's too hot not to handle.

REVIEW

Harlow is a college student who just found out her financial aid has been taken away. With her roommate graduating and moving out and needing tuition money she comes to a hard decision, she's going to a job interview at a local strip club, The MadHatter.  This is ironic to her as an old high school boyfriend started rumors of her being frigid and a tease, now she'll actually be teasing and making money at it.

While at the club for her interview, she meets Cam. He's sexy as sin and she's thinking thoughts that she hasn't though before. Harlow, known by Violet when performing, is a rarity. She a virgin stripper. As the relationship evolves, Cam and Harlow fall fast and she knows he's the one. The one who will take her innocence.

Things start getting strange quickly, Harlow feels like she's being watched and when someone steal a barrette it's down right bizarre. When she let's a friend, Roxi, who is a dancer at the club move in with her things become violent. The apartment is broken into and Roxi is attacked. Is Roxi's ex-boyfriend the one causing the problems? Or is someone from Harlow's past coming back for avenge?

This is a non-stop hot read. Harlow and Cam are passionate and sweet. Harlow's antics while dancing are comical and the whole time I found myself rooting for the girl to get up there and shake her money maker. It's the type of story that leaves you smiling at the end and wishing there were more chapters.

Excerpt

I dissolved into the seat of his amazing car. A low moan escaped my lips but Killian just showed his dimples and buckled me in. I wondered what he’d do if I pulled him tightly against me and sniffed… for an hour or two.

He opened his door and folded into the seat with absolute grace regardless of his size.

“Ah hell,” he muttered and turned my way. Unlatching my seatbelt, he pulled me in for the most mouthwatering kiss I’d ever had.

His lips, soft but firm, molded to mine. His tongue ran over my teeth, tasted, dipped deeper, and then plunged. He effortlessly slid out the elastic holding my hair before spreading his fingers to either side of my scalp. The kiss intensified and Killian made promises for the night ahead with his lips.

He tasted so damn good.

When he pulled back, I actually whimpered and smiled at the low rumbling growl that came from Killian’s throat. He took my lower lip between his teeth and pulled slightly before letting go. He put distance between us leaving me bereft.

“We’ll eat at my house.” He kissed my forehead, reached over, grabbed the seatbelt, and fastened me in again. My hands went to my hair as I looked around for the hair tie.

“Leave it.”

I stopped my search but couldn’t help running my fingers through the mussed tangles. Killian’s hand captured mine. “No.” He released my fingers just as fast as he verbalized the one word.

I wasn’t a pushover, didn’t have much experience with guys, but I had some. I should have argued, straightened my hair anyway, or even voiced some sort of displeasure. An electrically charged pulse shot straight to the junction of my thighs, and there I went and tried to stain his car’s upholstery.

I kept my mouth shut.   BookCoverPreview   hosted by: SWB Button Pink
