Review & Giveaway: "Us" by Emily Eck

Us (L & J #3)
by Emily Eck

Told from dual points of view, Elle and J must figure out how to bring down an MC, steer clear of flying bullets in Missouri and south of the border, all the while making sure Fernie is out of the line of fire. Elle's love for J is tested, as is her belief that she will ever find "normal" with the man she loves. J is determined to make things right so he can give Elle the "normal" life she deserves. He just has to stay alive to make it happen. With his own personal sun by his side, he knows nothing is impossible. That is, until the bullets are redirected from his head to Elle's.
Elle: I held my hand up, showing him the ring he’d put on me. “This is us,” I told him. It was more than a ring. Well, to me it was more. “I promise to love you ‘til the day I die.”
J:"Us, baby. This is us. I'll love you 'til the sun ceases to shine."
This is the conclusion of the stories about J and Elle. Oh and what a conclusion it is! The Zeta's and the KC and St. Louis MM clubs are all working together. Things need to go back to normal, whatever that is. Nothing has ever been normal about J and Elle. They ride or die and have always loved with a fierce passion. It's no different now.
This book finds them in Mexico. Plans are being made to bring down Burns. He has his eyes set for J's one weakness. This leads to a lot of action and scares in this book. It also brings a bit of suspense to the book. There are eyes everywhere, but no one knows just where they are and who's they are.
It's odd, but as hardcore as J has to be at times in this book, I think it shows him more vulnerable and sweeter than ever before. Damn, but this man has some huge depth and it's swoon worthy. It makes Elle show her softer side. The side that only J and Chris know is there. Although this book is full of action, hardness, and smart-asses, it has some beyond belief beautiful moments. Moments that you just don't really expect from J and Elle. Their street cred would be ruined so thank goodness it's all in private. ;-)
This book is without a doubt my favorite of the series. I am so happy with the way it ended and that we got to see the people behind the masks in this read. I never thought these two would make me fairytale dreamy at times, but they managed it.
This is a definite 5 star book. It'll come out of left field and make you swoon at times. Then make you wish for a hard core biker the next. I'm glad some of the characters are getting their own book. I'm super curious about Chris. That girl has a story to tell and looks to be a huge one.
