If you could change history, would you?

College graduate Josephine “Josie” Jackson answers ‘yes’ to the question on a survey while visiting an Old West tourist trap. The next morning, she wakes up in Indian Territory in the 1840s, where she’s given a mission to complete before she can return to her time: to reset history by finding and stopping the man responsible for a horrific massacre.

It seems easy enough, until she discovers that three other women have been sent back to the same time period. When Josie uncovers what happened to them, she realizes the chances of her getting out of the past alive are not good.

To survive, she’ll have to trust the very man she’s there to stop, someone who has every reason to distrust her and only one reason to help her - to prove he’s not the monster she claims he’ll become.

Josie is a bright girl. She is on vacation and when she's stuck in a touristy town with an offer for a drink...She takes it. Carter is a little odd, but kind of cute and she feels sorry for him. He's not at all what he seems though and drunken offers sometimes sound brilliant. When Josie wakes in the 1840's to say she's shocked is putting it lightly.

As Josie's confusion and the story unfold, there are more stories to her story. She now has an abundance of mystery, a whole lot of danger, and a hot sheriff. Most certainly through most of the book I wondered if Josie would ever get to the real story. There are clues all along and while you can jump to conclusions you don't want to. They're all good guys...Right? Riiight. Wrong.

I loved this take on time travel with the mystery and suspense. The romance was flaming, but I love that it didn't make up the whole book. It's not what tied the book together. I was lost in this story by the second chapter and didn't unclutch it until it was done.  This is what makes Lizzy's books so amazing! Your transported to another world and another time. It's as if you yourself are experiencing the hardships and turmoil.

I loved Taylor. I mean truly, madly loved him. He was such a strong character and will be hard to top. Please realize though that this book will rip your heart out and stop on it. It may happen several times depending on how soft hearted you are, but at the end you'll want to cry. The End, bring the tissues, and pray that East brings something better. Don't let that make you miss this book or this series though. It's spectacular and a story all of it's own.
